Infant Daily Schedule

Here at Bright Beginnings our little infants follow their own schedules, as every infant is different. However, over time these little infants grow up and begin to start following a more routine schedule. This is a sample of how a normal day would go in the infant classroom.

6:30 a.m. (7:00 summer) The Center Opens

The parents will begin to bring in their child directly into the center, sign them in and bring them to their classroom where the designated staff member will be waiting. The teacher will then ask a series of questions to help us ensure the best care for the child throughout the day.

7:00 -8:30 a.m. Early Morning Feeding

This does not apply to our bottle fed infants, as we stated above they follow their own schedule. However, for those children eating, this will be the time they have their breakfast or early morning snack.

8:30-9:00 a.m. Diaper Time

The children get changed on a routine schedule of every 2 hours. The diaper time usually begins two hours after drop off and the older infants are usually on the same schedule, so diapers are done between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. unless they have a bowel movement, then they are changed immediately and their 2 hours will begin again from that time.

9:00- 10:00 a.m. -Outdoor/ Gross Motor Play

10:00-11:00 a.m.– Classroom Activities & Diaper Time

These activities include circle time, story time, song time and the planned art and science activity for the day. (This will be given to all parents in a monthly calendar at the beginning of the month.)

11:00-11:30 a.m. – Music and Movement

This will be the time where the children will participate in the planned music or movement activity which includes dancing, singing and using instruments.

11:30-11:45 a.m. – Prepare for Lunch

This is the time where we will wash hands, clean up the classroom and get ready for lunch.

11:45-12:45 p.m. Lunch Time & Diaper Time

1:00- 3:00 p.m. -Nap Time

3:00-3:30 p.m. – Wake up & Diaper Time

3:30-4:00 p.m. – Free Play

4:00-4:30 p.m. – Outdoor/ Gross Motor Play

4:30-5:00 p.m. – Afternoon Activities & Diaper time

This is the time where the children will participate in teacher lead activities. This can include puzzles, coloring, play dough, dramatic play and so on.

5:00-6:30 p.m. Departure Time

This is the time the parents usually start picking up their children. Upon departure the parent will get their child, their items to be taken home, a daily report card with all needed information on it and a quick talk with the teacher about how the child’s day was. During this time the children will participate in free play.
