Infants come into this world with immense capabilities. Their environment and surroundings promote the confidence and the ability to develop in their new surroundings as they grow older.

Research shows that by four years of age 60% of a child's capacity to learn has developed and by six years of age a child has developed 80% of their capacity to learn! The importance of these findings cannot be underestimated. It is amazing how quickly their minds and bodies develop if they are placed in the right environment.

At Bright Beginnings in the Infant/Toddler Porgam infants experience warm, loving, and nurturing surroundings. We understand the importance of providing a secure place where they can fully develop their own little bodies and personalities. We work to make the environments beautiful yet warm with both bright and subdued colors. They have toys specifically for their age, and play areas to explore with so much more.

As the infant continues to grow he or she begins to show both verbal and nonverbal behavior. We talk to them individually, and we read them stories to begin exposing them to different sounds. In fact, we try to provide them with experiences to all five senses: taste, smell, touch, sight, and sound... every day.

We also believe that interactions help children of this age adjust and fit into their surroundings. The teachers are in constant contact with the children. Each child begins to feel that they are in safe and loving hands. A soothing voice and a gentle hug go a long way. We play special music to help them fall asleep. The day moves at their pace not ours.

As they move from infants to toddlers we supply a little more structure to keep their little minds and bodies active during the day. Their individual growth at these stages is astonishing.

As they move into the toddlers age we sing, play games, continue reading books, undertake art projects, all in the same warm environment they experienced as infants. This allows them to transition naturally and almost magically to the toddler level.

Toddlers begin to see themselves as individuals, sense their surroundings, and grow in confidence. Our program exposes them to a fascinating time of their lives that continues their rapid development. As toddlers they seek independence, explore almost everything, play simple instruments, draw, paint, dance, learn about seasons, discover their favorite animals and more.

Children have taught us that they don't necessarily learn through teaching at these ages but by doing. We insure that they are always engaged in some activity when not taking naps. We select our teachers with the right personalities and patience for these very young children.

Our infant and toddler staff members love these small children for who they are and what they can become. And we encourage our staff to show this love all day long.
